My dear Smyly,
Ever so many thanks for
the Eudoxus2 notes which are just
what we wanted I am so sorry
that you have been laid up with
rheumatism. October chez vous
is I know rather trying. It is
a shame to bother you any more
when I expect you are particularly
[begin page 2]
busy, but could since Hermathena3
still lingers, could you send me
on a card just the double dates
of Epiphanes4 and Philometor5 which you
are discussing? I want to include
them in my table6, but not to
talk about them
1. Presumably 1905.
2. Eudoxus of Cnidus. Needed for the edition of P.Hib. I 27.
3. A scholarly journal. Presumably this is a reference to Smyly's article that would appear in v. 13 (1905).
6. See P.Hib. I, pp. 336-337.
